The Philosophy Pages
Hi all,
Just a note to say that although the site has been offline for the past few days, everything should now be back in place and working fine. If you notice anything that has stopped working, I'd appreciate if you would send an e-mail to me at info@davemckay.co.uk.

The Philosophy Pages
Hi all,
Just a note to say that although the site is currently offline, it will reappear soon. My web hosts have upgraded their servers and, as a result, broken all the pages on the site. I will work to get it all back in place over the next week or two.

as with the previous response, its unlikely that the works of karl marx will make it onto the site. about halfway through the work on the site i decided that no new sections would be added unless they provided a complete online edition of the author(s) work. this is intended to avoid the site becoming diluted with hu...ndreds of subsections that provide only a sampling of the selected author's writings.
there are some good marxist resources elsewhere on the web however, have a look at:

its unlikely that the marquis de sade's work will make it onto the site anytime soon. as i mentioned on the site blog (davemckay.co.uk/philosophy/blog) i have started a new job and have very little free time to update the site these days.
there is enough content to make the site twice as big as it currently is in vario...us states of completion, needing checking, formatting and such, but it would take a months work to get it all online and unfortunately i'm too busy put it all together at the moment.
if you like the site and want to support it, the best way to do so is to link to it elsewhere on the web, in blogs and social bookmarking sites. with increased traffic i could afford to devote more time to updating the site.
thanks to all those who have posted comments and suggestions so far.
david.

Two new sections have been added to the site today, detailing the lives and ideas of Diogenes of Sinope and Zeno of Citium. Although none of their writings survived to the present day, detailed biographies are available as part of Diogenes Laërtius’ larger work “The Lives and Opinions of the Eminent Philosophers”, and ...anecdotes are found in the writings of their students. Their works inspired and influenced later writings by the Cynics and Stoics and the thought of Seneca, Epictetus & Marcus Aurelius, amongst others.
