The Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion has refused to fund a critical component of stroke care in Ontario: The Heart and Stroke Foundation's "Five Warning Signs of Stroke" public awareness campaign.

Cheer on Isabelle Brasseur and Glenn Anderson beginning Sunday, Oct. 4 on CBC. The World Champion, two-time Olympic Bronze Medallist is partnered with the six-time Stanley Cup winner in CBC's Battle of the Blades, a 14-part live performance competition series against eight other pairs.

If Anderson and Brasseur win, she will donate her $50,000 prize to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Says Brasseur: "Heart disease and stroke have touched my life in a very personal way. My mom has had a stroke, my father succumbed to cardiovascular disease at 56, and I live with a heart condition known as vasodepressor syncope. Being able to support the Foundation through this competition is very important to me."
