Alicia Gilbert Anybody who's interested in World War 2, please join my Remembrance group called 'The Blitz Memorial'. It's group dedicated to those civilians that sacrificed so much during World War 2. It's also a pro-peace page against any kind of warfare used against civilians. If you are a survivor of the Blitz and want to share y...our story or know anybody who has a story to share about the Blitz, or a young person who wants to learn about the Blitz please join, anybody is welcome. Obviously the Blitz paved the way for future warfare where civilians would be the targets, so please join the group to show the civilians who fought for our freedom today that we are thankful. Please join. Thankyou.

NEXT YEAR marks the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. To grow awareness for the RAF Benevolent Fund who support the RAF Family from childhood through to old age as well as raise awareness of this very important anniversary, we call on you for some help!
We would like to grow the number of 'I Support the RAF Ben...evolent Fund' Facebook Group Members from the current 276......to 544 by the start of 2010. This is to signify the number of those in the RAF who lost their lives during the Battle of Britain.
THEN......by 10th July next year (the 70th Anniversary of the start of the Battle), we would like to reach a target of 2,936 Group Members to signify those who bravely fought in the Battle of Britain.
We can only achieve this with your help. So we ask you to pass this on to as many friends as possible and help spread the word for those who are 'always remembered.....and never forgotten'.
THE CHALLENGE IS ON!!!

I recommend reading these books :
"A Question of Honor The Kosciuszko Squadron: Forgotten Heroes of Word War II" by Lynne Olson and Stanley Cloud, and
"The Few. The American "Knights of the Air" Who Risked Everything to Fight in the Battle of Britain" by Alex Kershaw.

'The Battle of Britain' took place in 1940 (long before the USA or Russia got involved in the war) in the United Kingdom's airspace and was Nazi Germany's first ever military defeat. It was a massive turning point as the German war machine had previously thought to be invincible.
Here is former British Prime Minister Si...r Winston Churchill speaking not long before it happened.
